Seeing someone with long gorgeous hair is often a reason for envy for several people, because they too want hair like that. Most people believe that long and strong hair has everything to do with genetics, but the fact of the matter is that, almost everyone can get great looking hair, which is also healthy from within. The one thing that you need to remember is that chemicals will never get you great hair, because while they might work their magic in the moment, in the long run, it will cause more damage than you can imagine.
Here are some home remedies that you can try out, which can give you hair that you will fall in love with:
- Oil massages – Coconut oil has deep penetration abilities, which is why it can nourish your hair from within. The fatty acids in coconut oil, provide not only nourishment to your hair, but also offer protection to the hair shaft. Warm a little coconut oil and gently massage it into your scalp and along the length of your hair. Gently tie your hair and cover it with a shower cap, allowing the oil to work its magic for 30 to 40 minutes. Wash off the oil with a mild shampoo and do remember to condition.
Just like coconut oil, olive oil is also known to be great for encouraging hair growth. Simply massaging your hair with warm olive oil and washing it off only after 45 minutes, can give you hair that is not only nourished, but also hydrated. You could even choose the leave the oil in your hair overnight, washing it off only the next day.
You could even try your own version of a potent essential oil mix – you will need to combine a few drops each of thyme essential oil, rosemary essential oil, Cedarwood essential oil and lavender essential oil. To this mix, you will need to add a slightly larger amount of grapeseed and jojoba oils. You can create this essential oil mix and store in an airtight bottle; when you wish to use it, simply massage it into the hair and scalp, cover your head with a towel that has been dampened with slightly warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes. After this, you can wash your hair, as you would normally do.
- Eggs – Eggs are a wonderful source of protein and because hair is essentially made up of a protein named keratin, eggs are obviously a wonderful choice for long and strong hair. Simply beat a few eggs and apply it all over your hair and scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it for an hour or so. Wash it off with warm water and a fragrant shampoo, because you do want the egg smell to go away. You could also mix one egg yolk with a generous spoon of your regular hair oil and massage it into your scalp. Wash it off as you would normally do, after about 45 minutes. This is one of the simplest remedies for long and strong hair.
- Aloe vera – In the past few years, aloe vera has emerged as the one stop solution for almost all problems and it works well for hair too. Cut an aloe leaf down the middle and scrape out the gel; massage this into your scalp and along the length of your hair, leaving it for about half an hour, before washing it off with warm water. Another way you can use aloe vera is by mixing equal amounts of aloe gel with coconut milk, and massaging it into your scalp, and washing it off after about 30 minutes. Consuming a spoon of aloe juice, every morning on an empty stomach is also known to help.
- Henna leaves – Henna leaves have been used all over the Indian subcontinent for years, as a nourishing and natural conditioner. However, the same leaves are also one of the best solutions for long and strong hair, while also giving you naturally darker hair. The easiest way to use henna leaves is to grind a handful of the leaves with a little water to create a thick paste. The paste should be applied liberally on the hair and allowed to sit for about two hours, before being washed off with a mild shampoo. You could even use henna powder, mixed with green tea as a natural conditioning and strengthening potion. You need to keep the henna powder and green tea mix overnight – the next morning, add an egg and the juice of one lemon. Apply the paste on your hair and shampoo it off, only once it is completely dry.
